Our Unique Process

Many of the plants used to create the essential oils used in our product range are grown on our very own farm, situated on the NSW Mid-North coast. This includes our lemon myrtle, tea tree, lemon scented tea tree, lavender tea tree and salt bush. These plants are also essential in producing our Manuka Honey as the bees feed on the flowering lemon scented tea tree.

Essential oils are concentrated aromatic extracts from plants that are commonly used to add natural fragrance to personal-care products, diffusers and everyday home rituals. How you use an essential oil depends on the particular oil and the instructions provided with the product. For example, our essential oil soap bars are simply used with water to apply a rejuvenating, cleansing lather to your skin whilst showering or bathing.

At Freshwater Farm, we offer individual oils and carefully developed blends, including lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, tea tree, lemon myrtle and mandarin + cedarwood. Our collection also includes blends such as blue cypress + juniper berry and hemp seed oil.

Absolutely; Freshwater Farm is an Australian-owned, family-operated business, and many of the plants used to create our essential oils are grown on our own farm on the NSW Mid-North Coast. These include lemon myrtle, tea tree, lemon-scented tea tree, lavender tea tree and salt bush.

Growing our own botanicals gives us a direct connection to the plants behind many of our products. It is an important part of the Freshwater Farm story and our approach to creating naturally inspired personal care.

Can Essential Oils Be Used in Skincare?

Some essential oils and blends are formulated specifically for use in personal-care products (including our popular essential oil soap bars), but they are highly concentrated and should always be used according to the directions supplied with the individual product. Most of our soap bars have essential oils in them but a few of them have natural fragrances instead. They should not automatically be applied directly to skin simply because they are organic.

At Freshwater Farm, we incorporate our botanical oils and blends into finished products such as essential oil body bars, body washes and hand-care products. This provides a convenient way to enjoy their aromas without changing up your routine too much.
